耶和華後悔造人於地
5.耶和華見人在地上罪惡很大，終日所思想的盡都是惡，
The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
6.耶和華就後悔造人在地上，心中憂傷。
The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
7.耶和華說：「我要將所造的人和走獸，並昆蟲，以及空中的飛鳥，都從地上除滅，因為我造他們後悔了。」
So the LORD said, 「I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created－and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground－for I regret that I have made them.」
8.惟有挪亞在耶和華眼前蒙恩。
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
Noah and the Flood
9.挪亞的後代記在下面。挪亞是個義人，在當時的世代是個完全人。挪亞與 神同行。
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully will God.
10.挪亞生了三個兒子，就是閃、含、雅弗。
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
11.世界在 神面前敗壞，地上滿了強暴。
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.
12. 神觀看世界，見是敗壞了；凡有血氣的人在地上都敗壞了行為。
God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
神命挪亞造方舟
13. 神就對挪亞說：「凡有血氣的人，他的盡頭已經來到我面前；因為地上滿了他們的強暴，我要把他們和第一併毀滅。
So God said to Noah, 「I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
14.你要用歌斐木造一隻方舟，分一間一間地造，裏外抹上松香。
So make yourself an ark of cypress[c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

16.方舟上邊要留透光處，高一肘。方舟的門要開在旁邊，方舟要分上、中、下三層。
Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit[e] high all around.[f] Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.

17.看哪，我要使洪水氾濫在地上，毀滅天下；凡地上有血肉、有氣息的活物，無一不死。
I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.
18.我卻要與你立約；你同你的妻，與兒子兒婦，都要進入方舟。
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark－you and your sons and your wife and your sons』 wives with you.
19.凡有血肉的活物，每樣兩個，一公一母，你要帶進方舟，好在你那裏保全生命。
You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.
20.飛鳥各從其類，牲畜各從其類，地上的昆蟲各從其類，每樣兩個，要到你那裏，好保全生命。
Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to kept alive.
21.你要拿各樣食物積蓄起來，好作你和牠們的食物。」
You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.」
22.挪亞就這樣行。凡 神所吩咐的，他都照樣行了。
Noah did everything just as God commanded him. |
