2) There's this girl in the next class who was always number one in composition contests while I was always the second or third best. We knew of each other but never talked. Later we each entered boy's and girls' high school. We met again when we both joined a weekly young Christians' gathering. Those were the years young boys and girls rarely talked to each other. Nowadays, well, almost anything goes. Anyway we'd nod and say hi to each other. My younger brother and hers were classmates and good friends and my mother taught in the school she went to. Then my family left that town. We next met in a university welcome party four years later. She's a sophomore. I was a year late because of my family's moving around. She'd turned into an uninhibited young intellectual, very much into poetry, philosophy and writing...friendly, active in campus clubs, and with style.
