Some people talk too much. Once they start, they can’t seem to stop. This type of person is not popular. Others are quiet. They don’t seem to have an opinion on anything. These people can be rather boring. However, people still say that silence is golden.
I guess they mean that if you keep quiet, chances are you won’t get into trouble. This saying also tells us that it’s better not to say anything if we don’t have anything nice to say. That way, we can avoid offending people. No wonder they say that a dog is a man’s best friend – it can’t talk back.:D
