In the fairytale Snow White, the title character has tragically lost her mother. Snow white's father feels lonely. Thus he marries a woman who becomes Snow white's stepmother. She is cold and selfish, and attempts to kill poor Snow White.
Luckily, not all stepmothers are out to destroy their stepchildren. With more marriages ending in divorce, having higher numbers of step-parents or families is greater than in years past. Problems can crop up with newly merged families and these difficulties take time to overcome. New stepmother should accept the role they have, instead of trying to become a replacement. They should also understand that everything takes time. A child won’t let a new person into their heart overnight. Blended families are becoming more commonplace, but love and appreciation, like an oak tree, will only grow with time.
