In the last twenty years, frogs have been disappearing from the world. The populations of many species have been decreasing. According to an international meeting of experts in 2004, more than on-third of the world’s frog species are threatened, and over 120 species have become extinct since the 1980s.
The reasons why frogs are dying out are not known for sure. But it is likely that destruction of habitant plays a big role. Frogs need both land and water areas in order to survive and breed. So, if either habitat is damaged, the frog population will be affected. Also, humans have introduced frog predators, such as large fish, to some of their habitats.
