Work is very important to me. A job not only provides me with a paycheck, but it also gives me a sense of identity.
Work is a high priority for me; that is, it is something that I believe needs to come first, before almost anything else. I might not enjoy it, but I still believe that “work comes before play.”
I usually have this attitude toward other teachers, too. For example, I usually greet other teachers, say a few words, and then say, “Well, I’ve got to go. I have a work need to be finished.” This is not impolite at all.
It’s important to note that the priority of work doesn’t mean that work is more important to me than friendship is. It simply means that in terms of time and schedules, work usually comes before other things.:)>-
