the only other time i lost my appetite was also due to investment. in 2003 the commodity i traded had a 2 month bull run. i made a 90% return in 2 months.
i could've done much better if not for the choppy correction on its way up. since most fellow traders didn't do well that round, i didn't complain much.
several months later i was told one of them actually made a ten fold return on that round. for a whole day i couldn't eat knowing that i too could've done that.
but i felt slightly better after i rationalized a bit: he was lucky to not exit the market when the choppiness came in. he could've been whipsawed badly enough to incur an overloss. to get out and wait for a re-entry signal was the prudent thing to do. i did the prudent thing. he took a risk but it worked for him, for that round.
