Many of us learned what Nazi Germany did to Jews in WW2, partly thru textbooks, but mainly thru movies. "Shindler's List", "The Pianist", "Life Is Beautiful" are just a few recent examples. Most of them were produced in US and needless to say, with the full support of the Jewish community. Some were excellent and were watched all over the world.
So far, not even one audience-grabbing, internationally acclaimed film has been made about the atrocities, cruelties, crimes, sins and evil acts committed by the Japanese in China in World War 2.
One such film, "Nanking", has recently been produced by AOL Vice Chairman Ted Leonsis, and was accepted last month into the Documentary Competition of the prestegious Sundance Film Festival, which this year reviewed more than 3,287 films and accepted 122.
