That's why every Tom Dick and Harry, newspaper, and TV station would attack him left right and center, nonstop, each and every day.

He is such a threat and nightmare to them that they are scared to death.
To drive away fear, they have to criticize, smear, slander, belittle and attack him with every means and all resources.
Why on earth would people spend so much time and effort trying to destroy someone unless they are totally afraid of him?
So far his performance as a mayor is only slightly above average. Why are his foes so scared of him then?
The only possible reason is these opponents and predecessors may have done too little, nothing, or worse still, things that were or are destructive, illegal or unlawful.
