What takes American public more than a decade to see what was so obvious even before the Iraq War?
Carter saw it. He was attacked left and right by saying the war was unnecessary.
Bush senior saw it. He kept mostly silent because his son was the president who made the final decision to invade Iraq.
Even I could see it. And my family and girl friend were angry at me for thinking the Iraq War was totally wrong.
Now everybody begins to see it.
They harshly criticize Cheney and his war loving gang, forgetting they themselves were giving support to and rallying behind the war.
Why couldn't they see it before?
Why didn't they think independently and refuse to be misinformed and msiled by the government and the media?
And by admitting the war was a mistake, everybody thinks it's then ok.
What about the country that was destroyed and the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians that were killed as a result of the US invasion?
Any apology or compensation?
Who is responsible for more and more extreme Muslims that hate US?
What about 4,500 young American soldiers that were killed in the war?
And the 1 trillion dollars of tax money that was spent on the war...
By blamimg Cheney and a few people is a cheap way of shifting responsibility and guilt to others.
Cheney, Bush, Congress and the public were all responsible for the big mistake.
The interest of the government isn't necessarily the interest of the country and its people.
To love your country you need to monitor, watch, and check your government.
That's the right and duty of a good citizen.
