Americans in general have better communication skills compared to people in Taiwan. It has to do with culture, education and upbringing. I know American schools have courses in communication and I wonder if they have similar courses in Taiwan schools.
Many people, in any society or country, tend to be defensive, argumentative or critical when talking. Simple discussions and casual conversations often easily and unnecessarily turn into debates, arguments or quarrels.
If everybody properly presents information, facts and observations and lets others do the same, this world will be a better place.
