We have all heard the expression “life is short.” Millions of years ago, humans could only expect to live for forty of fifty years. Nowadays, humans can live for over seventy years, a longer lifespan than most animals. Moths and butterflies have even shorter lives; just a few days in some cases. When they are born they must quickly find a boyfriend or girlfriend so that they can pass on their genes. If they do not find a partner in time there is no second chance. Of course, when people say “life is short,” what they are really saying is, “live your life as well as you can.” The exact number of remaining years, months and days that we have before we die is not important. What is important is to think about what you really want to do with your life. Remember, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. Don't waste it.
