I have a soft spot for country music. Have liked it since high school days when I had no idea which tune belonged to which genre. Much later I realized that a whole bunch of my favorite songs were so called country music.
Other than making his signature song "Please Help Me I'm Falling" (1960) hugely popular, Hank Locklin also wrote the beautifully sentimental "Send Me The Pillow You Dream On" (1949), a big country hit. He passed away only 2 years ago at the age of 91.

In 2006 I watched him, at age 88, performing his old hits live on tv. It was most amazing to see a legend from the back of one's memory suddenly appear in public, in good spirit, and sing just like when he was young.
