Some of the most popular movies of all time are animated, such as The Lion King, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. and the latest, Cars. In 2002, for the first time, an Oscar was given to the best animated movie of the year - Shrek.
The first full-length animated movie was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. More than 750 artists drew the pictures that were used to make it in 1937. Toy Story is the first movie made with only computer animation. It was about a group of toys and their adventures.
Good animation and good story make a great cartoon movie. It also had famous actors doing the voices of all the characters. Shrek had Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy. The Lion King had Matthew Broderick and Whoopi Goldberg. Toy Story had Tom Hanks, Monsters, Inc. had Billy Crystal and John Goodman. Cars had Owen Wilson and Paul Newman.<):)
